My name is Michael Sutterlin and I am a happily married man with four boys. I grew up in Southern California and have traveled to many parts of the world. I was in the Air Force for eight years, and would do it all over again if I had the opportunity. I was also a raging alcoholic for 21 years. Its ironic, but a very rare autoimmune disease called Antiphospholipid Syndrome saved my life. Though the disease almost killed me and disabled me for life, it helped me take a long look at how I was living, and gave me a chance to get on the right track. Since the disease I had started writing journals for therapeutic reasons, but it soon became an obsession. I have gathered all my life’s experiences and started to write a memoir. I hope that one day I can tell the world my story of survival.
